You know, don't you?
You know what's on my mind
You heard every thought
Every whisper in my words
You knew where I was going,
and you know where I've been.
I thought that I could hide from you
but no matter how I try
You seem to see right through me
exploring every corner of my mind.
Not a thing has to be said
about the way I feel.
I know you feel it too.
And it pulses between us
with a life all its own.
And when you beg for me to speak,
whispering words of reassurance,
you're speaking to my soul
saying all that needs to be said.
Because you know.
And I know too.
I feel you.
I feel what you think,
what you say,
what you do.
I know you.
I know where you're going
what you want,
where you've been.
I know what you're after,
and how you plan to get it.
Your thoughts, your heart
your passion and desire.
You don't have to tell me,
I know what you need.
I know who you are,
who you were,
and who you'll be.
Intertwined with each other
is the only way we're free.

That isn't bad poetry at all. I was expecting something horrendous like what was read at the inauguration.
Very nice!
Ha! Considering I've been writing poetry since like 3rd grade, I don't think I could write something that bad.. if I did.. I'd probably vomit instead of publishing it..
Like it.
And yeah, that inauguration poetry was garbage.
I dig it, m'lady.
That was great!
I'd say your poetry was better than your storytelling - it moved me. *clap*
awe.. thanks everybody!
It's been a long time since I've shared any of my poetry publicly.. I'm extremely critical when it comes to poetry, so I have a hard time not trashing it all. ;)
What a nice poem? What were you thinking when you wrote it? What is the inspiration behind it?
I only write poetry while hanging upside down riding bare back on my lion on the fourth new moon of the year when the lion is eating a zebra with 96 stripes. Though once i wrote poetry when he ate one with 98 stripes... I later found he had 2 extra stripes near hi butt crack. I try not to check out Zebra butts too closely... you know how gross that is.
Oh yeah. I really enjoyed the poem and Barak-a-poetry was pretty dumb. Unless your sort of into that kind of thing.
what was the inspiration behind it? I think you know.. get it? 'you know'?
Ha! I kill me..
and yeah, I remember that 98 stripe zebra poem.. it's still on the kitchen window sill. Some of your best work.. You should write more poetry while not focusing so heavily on zebra butt-crack. ;)
wow when did onlyaman start doing drugs.
