Operation Hot Chick - Week 4

Apparently, I'm one of those awesome people who gains weight when they exercise. Lucky me.

So last week, I worked out on Monday and Wednesday and then slacked off until Sunday. I may have snacked a tad more than usual and had a few insatiable chocolate cravings.. but on the whole, I think I did okay.

My scale begs to differ.

My scale is stupid.

I think I might throw it out the window.

Goals for this week:
  • less booze (what?? I don't drink that much! I just know it has a lot of calories..)
  • more exercise
  • less chocolate (wahh!!!)
  • no more snacking
  • more booty shaking
At least the exercise should be more exciting this week. My other DVDs are supposed to arrive by April 3, so just a few more days of all Bollywood Booty (which is really fun, but I like variety).

*sigh*

Not giving up. This is typical for me. I have hereditary crappy metabolism. But it will right itself soon.. and while it may look like I just gained weight this week, I actually gained and lost. So I'm taking heart that I'm already losing. Hooray.

I've worked out like crazy this week and weighed myself this morning - up two pounds! My actual weigh in day is Wednesday, so there's still a chance to go down, but what? I guess I gain while working out too!

No, srsly. Beginning a workout routine is tough. Stick it through. If you can't chart progress in pounds, chart in sore muscles (it's a good feeling!), piles of sweaty clothes and maybe lost inches instead.

Workout as much as you want - i still think you're hot!

A guy I know told his wife to stop dieting because it makes her bitchy. Now he makes her go for walks and calls her fat if she says she does not want to go. Isn't she lucky!

I don't have this problem, my wife rocks even more when she wants to work out.

BTW - Marriage tip: If you can, make time to watch your spouse work out and encourage them or even better work out with them and be encouraging to each other. I don't know if ChurchPunkMom likes it, but I do.

Oh man, that sucks. I haven't hit the gym yet since starting the new diet but I'm sure I'll get the same results. I gain muscle fast when I actually get off of my arse and it throws the numbers off.

Sounds like muscle weight. I had the same problem when I first got married and exercised with my husband (a gym rat) all the time! I don't want to say don't exercise, but you will gain a few pounds in muscle mass.

What works for me (not that you are asking) is to put on the thin clothes every day until they fit. Sounds brutal, but after I had a baby, I did it every awful day until those pants went from barely hugging my knees to sitting comfortably around my hips. To this day, I break out the unrealistic size 6 and squeeze myself into them at least twice a week. Muffin top and all. It makes me put the tastykakes down.

Don't forget that you have to eat for your activity level. When you're really movin' a ton of carbs is a great thing.

The good news is that you're right at the threshold of cementing all this good behavior as habits. Stick with it!

Okay, you must know that the Hoff and I have a history. Back in '84, we had words. Honest to anything. We had words. I take full credit for his drunken demise and then rise to mediocre fame with America's Got Talent. Well, Hoff, American may have Talent, but you have no sense of humor. (He'll know what it means.) He DOES read you, right?
