New Kicks!

Hey! It's my 200th post! To celebrate, I'm showing off my new Vibram 5 Finger shoes. I thought about just posting a picture of them.. like this..

But then I thought, 'Why not show them in action?' So, here is a quick video for you. Don't laugh.. too much. I'm wearing Aman's hat because 1) it's raining and 2) I'm having a bad hair day. Shut up.

There ya go. Feel free to make fun of me. I have flat wide feet. It is so hard to find shoes that fit without pinching somewhere and/or giving me blisters. I am so glad to have found these (thank you Jess!). I bought the gray pair at a store in West Des Moines and wore them out of the store to do our shopping. I'm looking forward to ordering a black pair of KSOs, but if any of you would like to send me some, I'd gladly post another video of me walking around in them just for you. Because I'm generous like that.

In other news, I have some awards to show off! Let's get started..

This first bit of awesomeness is from Lisa at Unfiltered Insanity. If you haven't read her blog yet, go check it out. Aman is in the process of designing it, it should be done soon.. I think.

Next up I have a fabulous award that I am most humbled and honored to receive from Kat at the 3 Bedroom Bungalow. Kat and I totally need to get togeter and knock back a few. We've had so much fun getting to know each other online and can't wait to meet in real life.

And last, but most certainly not least! Another from Lisa. She created this bad boy herself to celebrate the unveiling of her new blog design! Check her out, if you like her blog, I'm sure she wouldn't mind if you slapped this puppy up on your own page to link back to her.

I'm feeling stingy today.. after putting my mug on video for y'all. So I'm just gonna leave it at that. For you loyal readers of mine, feel free to grab an award for your own blog. I love you all, and you are what make this place worth while!

One last piece of business for the day: I have been contacted by Jump Start and asked to review their new online world and some of their software. I thought it sounded like a great idea since so many of you are parents as well and could benefit from this. With summer break upon us, who doesn't want some educational software to keep the kids busy, entertained, and learning? My midgets are certainly excited about checking it out. When I post the review, I will also have a giveaway for you all to enter, so stay tuned!

Peace.

Congrats on 200! And I always a pair of those, but hesitated because I didn't know how they would handle pointy rocks. Now I know, thanks to you! ;)

Can i just say how much I LOVE watching you walk??? LOL. That sounded way dirtier than I meant for it to! SHUT UP, I hear you sniggering over there!

If I were a bare foot person - I would have bought some for myself. That was a great video too! You should have a picture or link to their site that show how light weight the shoes look. How did they handle the puddles you were walking through?

How GREAT are those shoes, huh?!? You are gonna love them! Soooooo glad you got a pair...I can't get enough of mine! AND if you go to the beach or they get dirty...throw em in the wash and they are ready to go for the next round!

Those shoes rock! After making fun of Jess, I think I may have to get a pair!

ChurchPunkMom got them for our long walks - since we are without car. We walk to the store/bus around town and she did mention using them for her kick boxing videos too, but I dont think she has tried that yet.

I would probably been the person staring at your feet with a WTF look on my face. Those shoes are all kinds of funny lookin, but I am glad you dig em.

Do they feel odd walking in them w/your toes all separated? I'm used to my toes getting all scrunched up.

I love the video & the hat...looks good. BTW, if I saw you I might not have started but I might have tweeted about it!

Love my Fivefingers! I have the black KSOs. Thinking of getting some Sprints. Wish I could wear them to work. @Perksofbeing me and I bonded over ours at the LA March for Maddie. It ruled.

For more shoe-like shoes with a similar barefoot vibe, check out Terra Plana's Vivo Barefoot line. Those I do wear to work.

@Rebecca in the winter, I normally wear toe socks around the house to keep my feet warm, so the 'stuff between the toes' really doesn't bother me at all. I suppose it might for some. I'm accustomed to having my toes squished together in shoes too, pinched even, so this feels quite liberating. ;) I love them.

and yeah.. I'd totally tweet it if I saw someone wearing them, too!

That video was strangely fascinating. You have a nice voice, too.

AND you are a stah, dahling! (air kisses)

i like listening to you talk, but watching you walk makes me a little dizzy. and those shoes are so weird. but to each his own, no?

Congrats on 200.

Those shoes, well they freak me out.

Captain Dumbass said...

I'd never make fun of you, but what the hell do you have on your feet?

Ok the shoes freaked me out when i first saw your tweet post about them. they look like those 5 toed socks that i despise so much cause they make me feel like i have tissue stuck between my toes. do the shoes feel like that? I have wide feet but high arches like freakin' evil barbie. i dont think those would help me. glad you got some though they look good on you.

this award stuff is sort of weird to me. i dont really get it. I see them everywhere, what is there point are they just a cute game?

ChurchPunkMom said...

@Hope yeah, if you have high arches, you probably wouldn't like the barefoot style. ;) Aman has high arches too, hence he can't wear them.
The awards? Yeah, just a silly game thing.. our way of showing our appreciation/affection for each other. :)

omg, having something between my toes would drive me batshit crazy. Thanks for the demo though!

Those have to be the UGLIEST damn things I have ever seen.

LOL.

I kinda dig them.

Between those and my boots I'll be set for life.
